Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

1. What This Policy Covers

This page explains the kinds of cookies and similar technologies used on Trust My Tool and what each kind is for. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Some are essential — without them you could not stay signed in or submit a form. Others are optional and only appear when a feature that needs them is switched on.

The list below is generated from the site's live configuration rather than written by hand, so it always reflects what Trust My Tool actually sets today: 6 types of cookie, of which 3 are strictly necessary and 3 are optional.

2. The Cookies We Use

The cookies are grouped by what they do. Only the categories marked "optional" could be switched off without breaking the site — and we only set them when the feature they belong to is in use.

Strictly necessary Always on

These are required for the site to work at all: keeping you signed in, protecting the forms you submit and — while a checkout is open — letting the payment complete safely. They are set by us, or by our payment provider during a payment, and are never used to track you.

Type of cookie What it does Set by
Session Keeps you signed in and carries a form you are filling in from one page to the next. Without it you could not stay logged in, submit a tool or post a review. Trust My Tool
Security token Confirms that a form you submit really came from this site, so your account cannot be made to send a request you did not intend. Trust My Tool
Payment fraud prevention Used by Stripe only while a checkout is open, to confirm a payment is genuine and to protect you from card fraud. Stripe

Functional Optional

Functional cookies make a return visit easier — staying signed in if you asked us to, and keeping a partner's referral code so a partner you clicked is credited. They are never used to build an advertising profile.

Type of cookie What it does Set by
Sign-in memory Set only when you tick "Remember me" at sign-in, so you are not asked to log in again when you come back in a new browser session. Signing out removes it. Trust My Tool
Referral tracking Set when you arrive through a partner's referral link, so that partner is credited if you sign up. It holds the referral code only — nothing about you. Trust My Tool

Analytics Optional

Analytics cookies give us aggregate, statistical information about how the site is used — which pages are read, which tools are opened — so we can improve it. They are set by our analytics provider and do not identify you by name.

Type of cookie What it does Set by
Visitor statistics Counts visits and shows which pages and tools are being read, in aggregate, so we can improve the site. It does not identify you by name. Google Analytics

Advertising Optional

Advertising cookies are set by the advertising network whose ad slot is loaded on a page. They are used to measure how an ad performed and — if you allow personalised advertising — to choose which ads you see. They are never set before an ad is loaded.

We do not currently show advertising on this site, so no advertising or profiling cookies are set.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some of the cookies above are set by other companies rather than by us. We do not control what those companies do with the data they collect, so wherever a third party is involved it is named in the "Set by" column.

  • Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention, active only while a checkout is open. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Google — visitor statistics and, when advertising is switched on, ad delivery and measurement. See How Google uses cookies and the Google Privacy Policy — those pages list the individual cookies those services may place.

If a category above shows no cookies, that service is not running on Trust My Tool at the moment — we do not keep a standing cookie for a feature that is switched off.

4. How to Control Cookies

You choose what your browser stores. Because some cookies are essential, blocking all of them will stop you signing in, submitting a tool or posting a review.

  • Browser settings — every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies; the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how.
  • Signing out clears the cookies that keep you signed in, including the "remember me" cookie.
  • Private / incognito windows — cookies are discarded when you close the window, so you are signed out and nothing is remembered next time.
  • Analytics — the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on stops Google Analytics measuring your visits on any site.
  • Advertising — you can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and from many other networks at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.

5. Changes to This Policy

When the cookies we use change, this page changes with them — the list above is generated from the site's own configuration rather than written out by hand, so a cookie only appears here while it can actually be set. We also update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Trust My Tool after a change means the updated policy applies.

6. Contact Us

If anything on this page is unclear, or you want to ask about the cookies we use, contact us or email contact@trustmytool.com.
